Chapter II: On Editions of the Original Text and Non-Vernacular Versions of Sacred Scripture
¶1.
5. Editions of the original text and of ancient Catholic versions of Sacred Scripture, even of the Eastern Church, published by any non-Catholics whatsoever, even if they appear to have been edited faithfully and integrally, are permitted only to those who devote themselves to theological or biblical studies, provided nevertheless that in the prolegomena or annotations the dogmas of Catholic faith are not attacked.
6. In the same manner, and under the same conditions, other versions of the sacred Bibles, whether in Latin or in another non-vernacular language, edited by non-Catholics, are permitted.
