document — Palmieri, On Christian Marriage
From the Council of Lyons, or Held Elsewhere in Burgundy (cf. Anton. Pagi at the Year of Christ 517), in the Cause of a Certain Stephen, about A.D. 517
¶1133.
Canon I. In the name of the Trinity, gathered again into one, in the cause of Stephen, polluted by the crime of incest and dwelling in the city of Lyons, we decreed that this act of ours, which in condemnation of him or of her (Palladia from Canon VI), whom he illicitly associated to himself, we subscribed with one consent (namely in the preceding Synod of Epaon), we would preserve inviolably (this is Canon XXX of the preceding Synod of Epaon). And it pleased the council that this be kept not only concerning the aforementioned same persons, but in all who, in whatever place or time, shall have been detected in this perversity.
