document — Palmieri, On Christian Marriage
From the Letter of Leo, to Turibius, Bishop of Astorga, 447
¶1044.
Decree VII. In the seventh place there follows that they condemn nuptials (the Priscillianists) and shudder at the procreation of those born; in which, as almost in all things, they agree with the profanity of the Manichaeans. Therefore, as their morals prove, they detest conjugal copula, because there is not there freedom of baseness, where the modesty both of marriage and of offspring is preserved.
