Sacrilege, insofar as it is a sin of lust, is the violation of a sacred person or place by a venereal act.

I say. Copulation, pollution, or any gravely base touch had by a sacred person always includes a grave sin of sacrilege; because besides the virtue of chastity it also injures religion, which gravely obliges sacred persons to be treated reverently. But if a touch of this kind is exercised between two persons dedicated to God, a double sacrilege would be had. Concerning local sacrilege, however, it is certain that it is committed by copulation or pollution; but whether it is also admitted by touch, the Doctors are not of one opinion, as was said in n. 215. - Cf. St. Alphonsus, nn. 455 and following; and Hom. Ap., n. 22.
