Chapter — 1917 Code of Canon Law
Chapter III: Of the Time and Place of Conferring Confirmation
Superseded as law in 1983 — read why this Code still matters. Each canon links to its 1983 counterpart.
This sacrament can be conferred at any time; but it is especially fitting that it be administered in the week of Pentecost.
Hoc sacramentum quovis tempore conferri potest; maxime autem decet illud administrari in hebdomada Pentecostes.
1983 Code correlation: can. 881
Although the proper place for administering confirmation is a church, nevertheless for a cause which the minister judges just and reasonable, this sacrament can be conferred in any other decent place.
Licet proprius confirmationis administrandae locus ecclesia sit, ex causa tamen quam minister iustam ac rationabilem iudicaverit, potest hoc sacramentum in quolibet alio decenti loco conferri.
