Manual — Jean-Pierre Gury, S.J.; notes by Antonio Ballerini, S.J.
Compendium of Moral Theology of Fr. John Peter Gury, S.J., with the Notes of Antonio Ballerini, S.J.
First published 1884. Compendium theologiae moralis P. Ioannis Petri Gury S.I., ab auctore recognitum et Antonii Ballerini eiusdem Societatis adnotationibus locupletatum, eighth Roman edition (Rome, 1884), two volumes. The English translation is our own, made from the Latin. Ballerini's notes are set beneath the passage that calls them, at their markers; the text the 1884 copy lacks (Volume I, printed pages 478-479) is translated from the 1866 edition, and said so on the page; the few passages and notes the English had passed over are translated from the print, and where the print itself errs its reading is kept and marked. The Index of each volume stands at its end, and the Alphabetical Index of both at the end of Volume II, every head a link.
