Section — Vermeersch, Theologia Moralis
§ 1. On Doubtful Ordination
— Doubts concerning the value of ordination, even for religious, pertain of themselves to the Sacred Congregation of the Discipline of the Sacraments, which will transmit the question to the Holy Office, if a doctrinal point can be controverted on which the solution depends.
Yet the Sacred Penitentiary can be approached for advice by all concerning a doubt of conscience pertaining to this matter, or when without danger of infamy or scandal the matter cannot be divulged, and at the same time the remedy can consist in a secret repeated ordination without the necessity of repeating quite many ordinations or of taking a similar disposition public of itself. Then the name of him concerning whose ordination there is doubt is withheld.
