Treatise — Vermeersch, Theologia Moralis

Treatise II: On Censures

¶1.

Usefulness. - Concerning this especially canonical treatise, these things must chiefly be known in sacred ministries: a) how far penalties and censures can stand in the way of receiving or administering the sacraments; b) what things excuse from contracting them; c) how far they can be absolved or dispensed; d) what certain few censures, more easily known to those who by committing a delict are liable to these penalties, suppose.

Since most censures have each been declared in their own place in our work, it will be permitted to contract the discussion to a few things.
