Treatise III: On Confirmation

Utility. - Certainly the immediately practical utility of the Treatise on Confirmation is less for individual priests; for this reason it is customarily set forth briefly. Yet theological knowledge of this sacrament is such as greatly increases estimation of this sacrament, which today is very expedient. For through confirmation Christians are ordered to carrying on warfare for Christ. But how much does it contribute to the private good of individuals and the common good of all that strong soldiers be at hand for Christ?
