Treatise VI: On Extreme Unction

¶1.

(cc. 937-947)

Utility. A priest, devoted to sacred ministries, must know well the rite, especially the essential rite. It is necessary that he be so instructed and persuaded concerning the utility and sweetness of this sacrament that, according to the repeated admonitions of the Supreme Pontiff, he procure and obtain the timely administration of the sacrament, far from being an accomplice of those who tolerate only too late that the sick be strengthened by this sacrament.
