Manual — Gennaro Bucceroni, S.J.
Institutions of Moral Theology (Institutiones Theologiae Moralis)
First published 1915. Translated into English for this library from the Latin of the sixth, revised and expanded edition (Rome: Vols. I–II 1914, Vols. III–IV 1915). The paragraph numbering runs in two continuous series — nn. 1–1626 across Volumes I–II and nn. 1–1390 across Volumes III–IV — exactly as in the print; n. 397 of the second series is skipped by the print itself. Each volume's analytical index cites the printed pages; those citations were resolved to paragraphs against the page breaks of the original scan. The author's own cross-references (“Cf. n.”) are linked within their numbering series. Where the translation ran several of the print's paragraphs together into one long block, the block has been opened up again for reading: never into more paragraphs than the print itself has for that number (its paragraphing is known from the indents of the printed Latin), and always at a sentence boundary — but the exact points are ours, not the print's.
