The Ordinary of the Breviary

¶1.

The Ordinary of the Divine Office is distinguished from the Psalter and precedes the Psalter, distributed entire through the whole week, so that the 150 Psalms are recited in the week. In the Ordinary of the Divine Office is contained the general manner of reciting the Divine Office, together with the due changes for the various Offices to be recited at various times. This Ordinary of the Divine Office is like the Order of Mass, which is had in the Missal, which marks the general order to be kept in any Mass whatever.
