Ferial Offices
¶1.
All things are as in the Psalter, unless proper things of the Time are to be said. They are said continuously under one Nocturn; the Lessons are from the occurring Scripture, or proper Homily, or from the preceding Sunday. At Lauds and all the Hours, as in the Psalter or in the Ordinary; the prayer is proper or from the preceding Sunday.
The Office of a feria in Advent, Lent, Ember Days, Vigils, and the first day of Rogations begins from Matins; but on other ferias through the year, the feria begins where the Office of the preceding day ends. Cf. General Rubrics of the Breviary, title 5, n. 2.
