To n. 460. -
"Can a church be dedicated to the Most Holy Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, and can an image or statue of its title be placed on the high altar? R. The Bishop Ordinary of the place is to substitute a liturgical title both for the church and for the image or statue...." S. R. C. 28 Mar. 1914, A. A. S. v. 6, p. 146. "
I. The Decree of the S. R. C. of the day 28 March 1914 is to be confirmed again with the sentence: In what has been decided and more fully.
II. The title 'Eucharistic Heart of Jesus' can be permitted only in confraternities approved under that title; provided that it is accepted in the same sense in which the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is understood, as it is present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.
III. But since a title of this sort is not canonical and liturgical, indeed smacks of novelty, it is never to be recognized and admitted in the sacred liturgy.
IV. Moreover confraternities which are called by that title can celebrate no other feast as proper except the feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with the universal Church, or the feast of the Most Holy Body of Christ." S. R. C. 15 July 1914, A. A. S. v. 6, p. 383.
