Decree of the Sacred Congregation of the Council *Ut debita*, May 11, 1904

¶1.

Concerning things to be observed and avoided in satisfying manual Masses. To n. 627.

  1. The reason for the Decree is the growing danger, from the present state of things and the malice of men, lest alms for Masses received be lost and the obligations undertaken not be satisfied. Therefore the end of a decree of this kind is that greater cautions be employed, lest the pious wills of the faithful be frustrated, and so that the obligations undertaken in the celebration and application of Masses may be fulfilled studiously and holily. Paragraph Ut debita.
