Athanasian Creed, Confiteor, Suffrage
The Athanasian Creed is recited on the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, on Sundays after Epiphany, and on Sundays after Pentecost, unless a double or octave occurs and a commemoration has been made. It is omitted on all greater Sundays and in Paschal time.
The Confiteor is recited only once in the private Office, by one, or by two, or by nuns in choir, by all together, the words vobis, fratres, and tibi Pater; vos fratres, and te, Pater, being omitted. Similarly only once is said: Misereatur... nostri... nostris... nos, and Indulgentiam... nostrorum... nobis.
The Suffrages have been reduced to one. The new Suffrage is recited in simples and semidoubles at Lauds and Vespers. The Suffrage is always omitted during Advent and Passiontide. In Paschal time, from Monday after Low Sunday up to the Vigil of the Ascension, when the Suffrage would have to be said, in its place a Commemoration of the Cross is made, as in the Ordinary.
Outside Paschal time, and excluding days on which any double Office whatever occurs, or one within an octave, or a Sunday on which a simplified double is commemorated, the Suffrage is made. Sacred Congregation of Rites, February 24, 1912.
But the Suffrage of All Saints has no place on the Vigil of All Saints, when the office or commemoration is made of it in a semidouble office. Sacred Congregation of Rites, March 22, 1912.
At the letter N. the name of the Titular of one's own church is said; and the name of the Angels and of St. John the Baptist, if they are titulars, is placed before the name of St. Joseph.
Nothing concerning the Title is to be done in the Suffrage when the church has as its Title some Mystery of the Lord. Sacred Congregation of Rites, March 22, 1912.
