Concerning the Feast of Dedication and Octaves

¶1.

"

I. Whether the anniversary Feast of the Dedication of all churches of some diocese is to be understood in such a way that, because of the stated Feast, the individual churches celebrate their own proper Dedication?

"

II. Whether Octaves granted by law or from privilege to Feasts occurring from December 19 to December 23 revive, since they are thereafter no longer impeded by the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ?

"Response. To I: In the affirmative; namely, so that in individual consecrated churches the Feast of the Dedication of the proper church is kept. To II: In the affirmative." Sacred Congregation of Rites, February 12, 1914.
