Theologia Moralis Sancti Alphonsi: Reduced into a Compendium

First published 1885. Konings's Theologia Moralis Novissimi Ecclesiae Doctoris S. Alphonsi, in Compendium Redacta, et Usui Venerabilis Cleri Americani Accommodata (fifth edition, Benziger Brothers, New York, 1885; two volumes), in our own literal English translation from the Latin, made with every word preserved: his own section numbers — one series across both volumes, 1 to 1801 — are the anchors of citation, his printed index of Volume I stands hosted with every line a link (the print gave Volume II no contents of its own), and his Alphabetical Index closing Volume II is restored with every number a link. St. Alphonsus's moral theology reduced to a compendium for the American clergy by the Redemptorist professor at Ilchester: the whole Alphonsian system — conscience and the equiprobabilism of the saint, laws, sins, the virtues, the commandments of God and the Church, justice and contracts, the states of life, and the sacraments — with the condemned propositions, the American faculties, and the saint's own doctrine prefixed, every section answering to the numbers by which the manuals cite him.
