Section — Konings, Theologia Moralis
§ X: Errors Which Are Referred to Modern Liberalism
¶1.
- In this our age it is no longer expedient that the Catholic Religion be held as the only religion of the State, all other forms of worship whatever being excluded.
¶2.
Alloc. Nemo vestrum, July 26, 1855.
¶3.
- Hence, laudably in certain regions of Catholic name, provision has been made by law that it be permitted to men immigrating there to have the public exercise of each one's own worship.
¶4.
Alloc. Acerbissimum, September 27, 1852.
¶5.
- Indeed it is false that civil liberty of every form of worship, and likewise the full power attributed to all of openly and publicly manifesting any opinions and thoughts whatsoever, conduces to corrupting more easily the morals and minds of peoples, and to propagating the pest of indifferentism.
¶6.
Alloc. Nunquam fore, December 15, 1856.
¶7.
- The Roman Pontiff can and ought to reconcile and compose himself with progress, with liberalism, and with recent civilization.
¶8.
Alloc. Jamdudum cernimus, March 18, 1861.
