Q. Response of the S. C. of the Inquisition concerning whether a heretical minister is to be called for sick heretics

¶2.

"D. N. humbly sets forth to Your Holiness that in the city M. there exists a hospital, of which he himself is rector and chaplain, and in which nuns, called M. N., have care of the sick. But since in this hospital followers of a non-Catholic religion are sometimes received, and these same persons repeatedly ask for a heretical minister, from whom they may receive religious helps and consolations, it is asked whether it is lawful for the aforesaid nuns to call a minister of false religion. It is asked moreover whether the same solution is to be given where a sick heretic lives in the private house of a certain Catholic; namely, whether then the Catholic can licitly call the heretical minister."
