Chapter II: On The Obligations Of Clerics By Reason Of Benefice

Although the treatment of Benefices properly pertains to Canonists, nevertheless it is pleasing to hand down here, with St. Alphonsus leading, certain things more necessary to know. Therefore in few words we shall set forth: 1. the nature or notion of benefices; 2. the obligations of one conferring benefices; 3. the obligations of beneficiaries.
