DISSERTATION III: ON THE REPARATION OF INJURED RIGHT, OR ON RESTITUTION
¶923.
- "The present matter of restitution needs careful consideration: both because it abounds in most intricate questions, and because the confessor ought equally to make a scruple for himself if he does not oblige penitents to restitution who are held to restore, as if he obliges those who are not held" (H. Ap., XIII, n. 35).
We shall discuss: 1. the obligation of restoring; - 2. those who are held to restitution; - 3. the measure and order of restitution; - 4. those to whom restitution must be made; - 5. the circumstances of restitution; - 6. the causes exempting from restitution.
