¶1.

St. Alphonsus, III, n. 308; ed. G., I, p. 569; H. Ap., VI, n. 27 and 38 (where private oratories are treated); Lehmkuhl, I, n. 713; Van Gameren, de Oratoriis; Heiner, Kirchenrecht (1905), p. 342; Weiss, Apol. d. Christ., IV, p. 901; Villien, op. cit., c. 2.

¶670.
  1. The precept of hearing Mass on each Sunday and feast day obliges all the faithful having the use of reason; therefore also priests not celebrating, and all others not legitimately excused. This is established from what was said n. 653 and 656.

It remains here to be treated: 1. of the requisites for hearing Mass; 2. of the causes excusing from hearing it.
