DISSERTATION II: CONCERNING LESION OF RIGHT IN EXTERNAL GOODS

¶902.
  1. Lesion of another's right happens through injury, both material and formal, as we said in n. 722. - Concerning formal injury we shall now treat.

Moreover, formal injury is twofold: 1. lucrative, which happens, for example, through theft, through unjust usurpation, and is called generically unjust acceptance of another's thing; - 2. non-lucrative, which is inflicted upon one's neighbor without advantage of the one inflicting, for example through fire, slaughter, and is damaging strictly so called. Concerning these in two chapters.
