Chapter — Merkelbach, Summa Theologiae Moralis
Chapter II: On Irreligiosity
790.
790. Irreligiosity posits something contrary to religion and is opposed to it by defect. To reverence toward God Himself are immediately opposed the tempting of God, blasphemy, and perjury; to the reverence due to sacred things and mediately to divine worship, sacrilege and simony are opposed.
790.
Concerning blasphemy it has already been spoken in the treatise on Faith, because at the same time it is opposed to the confession of faith; concerning the four others it now remains to speak.
