Article VII. On the Observance of Sunday and Feast Days

Preliminary Note. Since this article is rather long, it is divided into four sections: 1. on the nature and origin of this worship; 2. on the utility of this worship; 3. on hearing Mass, which is the first part of this worship; 4. on cessation from servile works, which is the other part of this worship.

This article treats of all those things which are prescribed both in the third precept of the Decalogue: "Remember that thou keep holy the sabbath day,"626 and in the first precept of the Church concerning the observance of feast days.
