§ 4. On The Dominion Of Children Of Families According To English Law

31.

31. 1. A minor is emancipated when he reaches the 21st year, or when he enters marriage, or when he leaves the paternal house and by reason of occupation ceases to be subject to the father, as if the minor becomes a soldier or the servant of another.121

  1. If the son is supported in the paternal house and by his own labor acquires something, the father can take this up to the 16th year; for thus the support is compensated in some measure. But after this time the parents can demand from the son only the price of support. But when children labor without remuneration or hand over the whole wage to the parents, they are considered to renounce their rights.
