Chapter — Prümmer, Manuale Theologiae Moralis
Chapter III. On the Subjective Parts of Temperance in Particular and on the Opposed Vices
¶73.
Preliminary note. Enough was said above concerning the integrating parts of temperance, namely, shamefacedness and honorableness; its subjective and potential parts therefore remain to be explained more fully, together with the opposed vices. In this chapter we shall treat: 1. of the virtue of abstinence and fasting; 2. of the opposed vice, or gluttony; 3. of sobriety and the opposed vice, that is, drunkenness; 4. of chastity and virginity; 5. of the vice opposed to chastity, namely, lust.
