Chapter — Prümmer, Manuale Theologiae Moralis

Chapter III. On the Morality of Human Acts

¶33.

Connection of the matter. Since enough has been said concerning the nature, division, principles, and impediments of human acts, now it is necessary to treat of their morality and of supernatural merit. For by our acts we shall not obtain the end of our life unless they are not only morally good, but also supernaturally meritorious. Wherefore first one must treat of the morality of human acts and then of their merit. The first chapter on the morality of human acts we subdivide into three articles: 1. on the nature and division of morality; 2. on the principles or sources of morality; 3. on the extension of morality.
