Dissertation II. On the Precepts of the Church
1092.
The principal precepts of the Church, common to all, are: 1° the sanctification of Sundays and feast days; 2° abstinence and fasting; 3° annual confession; 4° Easter communion; 5° the censorship and prohibition of books. Concerning the sanctification of certain days we spoke in Part III, concerning the third precept of the Decalogue (n. 701 ff.). It remains for us to treat the last four precepts, with a scholion on the forbidden cremation of bodies added.
