Point II. On the Obstacles of Consent

835.

The obstacles of consent are enumerated: ignorance, error, fraud, and fear. Ignorance is the mere absence of knowledge concerning some thing. Error is a false judgment concerning some thing or person. Fraud is the deliberate circumvention of another. Now those things which regard ignorance practically fall under those things which have force concerning error. Enough will be said about fraud where there will be discussion of error.
