Part II. On the Mode of Ministering
¶1.
Concerning the mode of ministering the sacraments, canon 731, § 1, notes these things in general: Since all the sacraments of the New Law, instituted by Christ our Lord, are the chief means of sanctification and salvation, the greatest diligence and reverence must be employed in administering and receiving them opportunely and rightly.
With these things premised, we shall speak first of the requisites for valid ministration, then of the requisites for licit ministration.
