Question — Bontempi, Palladium Theologicum V · from Schola Thomistica
Question V: In what ways enclosure is violated
This question touches both Monks and Nuns, since enclosure has been enjoined upon both in favor of Chastity, although it has been prescribed by stricter law to women on account of the greater urgency of danger, and Suarez notes, tom. 4, de Religione, tract. 9, lib. I, cap. 12, num. 3. But the difficulty can be divided in two for each sex, because enclosure is violated not only by the exit of those dwelling in the cloister, but by the entrance of others to whom it is prohibited. And first indeed I shall speak of the exit of Religious; afterwards I shall touch upon some things about the entrance of women to the cloisters of men; I shall also discuss similar things regarding the exit and entrance to Nuns.
Quibus modis clausura violatur.
9. lib. I. cap. 12. num. 3.
