Section V: On Truth, Friendship, Liberality, Epikeia, and the Opposed Vices; on the Gift of Piety and the Precepts of the Decalogue That Concern Justice
I SHALL EMBRACE much here, yet in few words, that I may finish the other virtues which accompany justice; and in the first place I shall treat of Veritate, which is a virtue especially necessary to justice; for no one can be just in acting unless he be truthful in speaking. Second, I shall explain what that sweet bond of souls is which we call Amicitia. Third, I shall weigh what Liberalitas is, what Epikeia, or what vices are opposed to these. I shall also resume Pietas insofar as it is a Gift of the Holy Spirit; since, insofar as it has a place among the moral virtues, I discussed it above. Finally, whatever precepts of the Decalogue pertain to the observance of Justice, I shall briefly indicate.
